Chanukah is...the festival of lights!

We are so excited - Chanukah is here! We have been celebrating for the last three nights by lighting candles and eating delicious latkes. Elijah has really gotten into the spirit, helping us light the candles each night and singing the various Chanukah songs he knows. We usually light the menorah at the beginning of dinner so we can watch the flickering lights as we eat. I'm really enjoying this Chanukah simply because Elijah really seems to have an understanding of what is going on and is enjoying it so much himself. It has yet to become all about the gifts (although I hope it never does become like that!) and is all about the lighting of the candles and being with each other.
