Crafting away the winter woes...

With the start of March comes the promise of springtime. It is around this time that I am usually done with winter and ready to see budding crocuses, grass and warmer temperatures. Unfortunately, the New England weather rarely cooperates with me. Despite the official start of spring (and my birthday!) only a few weeks away I woke up to over six inches of fresh snow outside. While Elijah could be happy shoveling snow all day, I have just about reached my limit! I am eager to get outside without wet, slushy snow mucking up my boots and my needing a down jacket to keep warm.
However, staying inside wears on me too. Elijah and I have played with the same toys and read the same books over and over again. So, over the weekend I took it upon myself to dust off my sewing machine, buy a bunch of brightly colored cloth and started crafting up something new to do! We decided to make some bean bags and both Elijah and Marc helped out and got crafty with me.
The fabric - Elijah helped choose it. We both tended to like the brightly colored patterns!

Sewing away!

Marc and Elijah filled the bags with dried black beans.

They ended up coming out really great and Elijah has been having a great time tossing them into baskets, bowls and whatever else he can find!
